Water Department

It is the responsibility of the Water Operator to:

Make daily inspections of treatment buildings to insure proper daily operation. 

Order and stock chemicals needed for treatment. 

Order parts and make repairs to equipment or call for service, if needed. 

Read and/or repair water meters when needed. 

Turn water off or on at residential or commercial buildings as needed. 

Take water samples as required by NHDES. 

Take monthly well meter readings and issue quarterly water use reports. 

Attend meetings and inform Commissioners of any problems and ongoing projects. 

Flush all fire hydrants twice a year, making sure outside temperature is well above freezing. No more than four other persons at the water department's expense on hand. 

Test ll gate valves and blow offs twice a year to be sure that they work properly.
