Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners shall be the chief policy-making body for the village government. It will be the primary responsibility of the board to coordinate the long-range objectives of the town, particularly those of a comprehensive planning program, and to formulate policy for the implementation of programs necessary to fulfill those objectives, and shall report thereon annually to the voters. In addition, the board shall have the following powers and duties: 

The Board of Commissioners shall appoint a village Fire Chief, a village Water Operator, a Zoning Administrative Officer, and a Secretary/Clerk. 

Commissioners are responsible for the following: 

Ensuring adequate water and to provide and oversee supplying potable water within the Village for domestic and fire purposes. Provide oversight on the construction and maintenance of water pipes. Provide and oversee Ambulance service within the Village. Provide and oversee fire protection to the Village. Provide for the removal of trash/recycle material weekly from Village Residences. Enforce Zoning Ordinances within the Village. Establish and oversee an operating budget for the Village. Complete forms for DRA in a timely manner. Approve all invoices for payment. Approve payroll for all employees and elected officials. Establish rates and approve invoices for water usage.
